Juan Sebastian de Elcano

The Juan Sebastian docked in las Palmas a while ago, its a navy training ship. On this day we were allowed to go up on deck and get a guided tour of the ship.

Arucas Town Gardens

Took a stroll through the town gardens here in Arucas. It was raining so didnt stay long before it tipped it down but long enough to have a quick look around.

 Here they have the famous Arehucas factory for making Rum.

A really nice place to visit with a lovely town garden and spectactular views. Just 5 minutes north out of Las Palmas city and well worth a visit.

Las Canteras Beach and Promenade

My favourite place at the moment is the beach at Las Canteras in the city of Las Palmas. A few hours on the beach topping up my tan and then visit one of th ecafes etc for a coffee or lunch. Also visited the Sunday market in Santa Catalina.. actually its not that big for a city market, maybe because there is another market going on at the same time in La Vagueta.

La Garita . Telde

Went up to La Garita in Telde to find the infamous La Garita `Blow Hole`.. A hole in the rock on the coast which rises and falls depending on the tide. Today the tide was a bit high so it was not that good and I did not get any photos of the actual blow hole, but a few from the surrounding area,  however I will go again soon.

Trip to Vegueta in Las palmas.

Today I went to Vegueta, an area in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.  It was sunday so it was very quiet, usually this area is packed with people during the week and saturday.

So it has been such along time since posting on my photo blog .... finally left lanzarote some good times there..but now a new adventure in Gran Canaria awaits ...plus some new photos !!!
